Waste to Wealth Portal

  • The portal has been launched by the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser.
  • Portal will bring together technology providers, government stakeholders and urban local bodies.
  • Part of Swachh Bharat Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (SBUB), it will focus on scientific processing of waste to build a zero landfill and zero waste nation to achieve objectives of: Identifying and supporting the development of new technologies, Boost and augment the Swachh Bharat Mission and Smart Cities Project, Create financially viable Circular Economy models and Streamline waste handling in India.

Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Project

Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (DRIP Phase II)

  • Ministry of Jal Shakti.
  • India and World Bank signed a $250 million project.
  • India ranks 3rd globally after China and U.S with 5334 large dams in operation and 411 under-construction.
  • Maharashtra has maximum number of Dams followed by Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.
  • Highest Dam: Tehri Dam in Uttarakhand is built on Bhagirathi River.
  • Longest Dam: Hirakud Dam in Odisha is built on Mahanadi River.
  • Oldest Dam: Kallanai Dam in Tamil Nadu is built on the Cauvery River is about 2000 years old.
  • It is touted as the World’s largest dam management program.
  • Based on the success of DRIP Phase-I, Ministry of Jal Shakti initiated another externally funded Scheme DRIP Phase II and Phase III.
  • This new Scheme has 19 States, and three Central Agencies on board. It was approved in 2020 for rehabilitation provision of 736 dams
  • Scheme is of 10 years duration.
  • DRIP Phase-II is being co-financed by two multi-lateral funding Agencies – World Bank and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), with funding of US$ 250 million each.

Catch the Rain Campaign

  • Jan Andolan campaign.
  • The campaign will be implemented by the National Water Mission(NWM), Ministry of Jal Shakti.
  • It aims to take water conservation at the grass-roots level through people’s participation.
  • The campaign intends to accelerate water conservation across the country.
  • Tag line: Catch the rain, where it falls, when it falls.
  • Campaign will take place across the country, in both rural and urban areas.
  • It will be implemented from March 22 to November 30 (the pre-monsoon and monsoon period) in the country.

Parivesh Portal

  • It was Launched by MoEFCC in 2019.
  • Parivesh (Pro-Active and Responsive facilitation by Interactive, Virtuous and Environmental Single-window Hub)
  • It is an environmental single window hub for Environment, Forest, Wildlife and CRZ clearances.
  • “PARIVESH” is a workflow based application, based on the concept of web architecture. It has been rolled out for online submission, monitoring and management of proposals submitted by Project Proponents to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MOEFCC), as well as to the State Level Environmental Impact Assessment Authorities (SEIAA).
  • It seeks to give various types of clearances (e.g. Environment, Forest, Wildlife and Coastal Regulation Zone Clearances) from Central, State and district-level authorities

SAMRIDH Programme

  • Recently, the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) has launched the ‘Start-up Accelerators of MeitY for Product Innovation, Development and growth (SAMRIDH)’ programme.
  • It aims to create a conducive platform to Indian Software Product startups to enhance their products and secure investments for scaling their business.
  • It is focusing on accelerating the 300 start-ups by providing customer connect, investor connect, and international immersion in the next three years.
  • It will provide investment of up to Rs 40 lakh to the start-up based on current valuation and growth stage of the Start-Up through selected accelerators.
  • It is Being implemented by MeitY Start-up Hub (MSH)

Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme

  • Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY).
  • Recently, the central government invited applications from domestic companies, start-ups and MSMEs under its Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme.
  • DLI Scheme is part of Indian semiconductor localization move announced last year as part of ₹76,000 crore ($10 billion) Programme for Development of Semiconductors and Display Manufacturing Ecosystem in India.
  • DLI aims to nurture at least 20 domestic companies involved in semiconductor design and facilitating them to achieve turnover of more than ₹1500 Crore in the next 5 years.
  • Nodal Agency: C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing)

MeghEA

  • Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) launched Meghalaya Enterprise Architecture Project (MeghEA).
  • MeghEA envisions making Meghalaya a high income state by 2030 by improving service delivery and governance for the people at the grassroots level using power of Digital technologies.
  • It will be implemented by the MeitY, National Informatics Centre (NIC), and Information Technology Department of state Meghalaya is first state to implement IndEA as MeghEA
  • IndEA (by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology) is a framework that enables the development and implementation of Enterprise Architectures independently and in parallel by all governments and their agencies across India, conforming to the same models and standards

UMANG App

  • Developed by Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) and National e-governance division launched in 2017
  • To bring major government services on a single mobile app.
  • Unified mobile application for new-age governance (UMANG)

NIKSHAY Portal

  • Web enabled patient management system for TB control under National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP)
  • Developed and maintained by Central TB Division (CTD) in collaboration with National Informatics Centre (NIC), and WHO.
  • Functions as National TB Surveillance System and enables reporting of various surveillance data to Government of India.
  • For private sector providers who notify TB patient gets incentive of Rs.500 on notification and another Rs.500 for updating patient’s treatment outcome

Anemia Mukt Bharat Strategy

  • It is an initiative of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and UNICEF.
  • It provides preventive and curative mechanisms through a 6x6x6 strategy including six target beneficiaries, six interventions and six institutional mechanisms for all stakeholders to achieve the envisaged target of anaemia reduction under the POSHAN Abhiyaan.
  • The target beneficiaries are Children (6-59 months), Children(5-9 years), Adolescent Girls & Boys of 10-19 years, Women of Reproductive Age (15-49 years), Pregnant Women and Lactating Mothers

SAMVAD Initiative

  • Recently, the Ministry of Women and Child Development has launched the 2nd phase of the SAMVAD programme: Support, Advocacy & Mental health interventions for children in Vulnerable circumstances and Distress (SAMVAD)
  • The programme is aimed at mental health outreach for children who are abandoned and orphaned, child survivors of trafficking, or in conflict with law.
  • It is funded by MoW&CD and implemented by the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS).
  • It is a national initiative and integrated resource that works in child protection, mental health and psychosocial care of children in difficult circumstances.
  • The initiative aims to foster care and integration of child protection and mental health in the Panchayati Raj systems in aspirational districts across the country to facilitate awareness generation and improve service delivery at the grassroot level

Ujjawala Schemes

  • Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD) launched it in 2007.
  • Combat trafficking and it provides for Prevention, Rescue, Rehabilitation, Re-Integration and RePatriation of victims trafficked for commercial sexual exploitation.
  • It is mainly being implemented through non-governmental organizations (NGOs)

SAMVEDNA

  • Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD).
  • Sensitizing Action on Mental Health Vulnerability through Emotional Development and Necessary Acceptance (SAMVEDNA).
  • Toll-Free Helpline(1800-121-2830) for Children.
  • Launched by National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR).
  • To provide psycho-social first-aid and mental support for Children affected during COVID 19 Pandemic
