Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana(PMMVY)

  • Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD).
  • The scheme promises a total sum of ₹5,000, to be given in three instalments to pregnant women and lactating mothers.
  • Those who receive similar benefits from their employers and government employees are excluded from the scheme.
  • The benefit is provided only for the first live birth and the money is to be credited to the beneficiary’s Aadhaar-linked savings account in different intervals over a period of nearly 14 months.
  • Each instalment is paid after the mothers meet certain conditions — the first instalment after early registration of pregnancy; the second instalment after six months of pregnancy on the completion of at least one ante-natal check-up; and the third instalment after the registration of child-birth and the first cycle of immunisation of the child.
  • The government has clubbed this with the Janani Suraksha Yojana, which provides a benefit of ₹700-₹1,000, to claim that women will get “on an average” ₹6,000 for every first child.
  • Recently, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana has been clubbed under SAMARTHYA along with multiple other schemes such as Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Mahila Shakti Kendra and Gender Budgeting/Research/Training.

PM CARES for Children Scheme

  • Ministry of Women and Child Development.
  • To support children who have lost both the Parents or legal Guardian or Adoptive Parents or Surviving Parent to COVID19 pandemic during the period starting from 11th March 2020.
  • Scheme provides support to these children through convergent approach, gap funding for ensuring education, health, monthly stipend from the age of 18 years, and lump sum amount of Rs. 10 lakhs on attaining 23 years of age
  • Scheme is expected to continue till the year when every identified beneficiary shall turn 23 years of age.
  • At District level, District Magistrates is the nodal agency

Mission Vatsalya

  • Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD) has classified all its major programmes under three umbrella schemes i.e. Mission Poshan 2.0, Mission Vatsalya and Mission Shakti, for their better implementation.
  • Mission VATSALYA will look into child protection services and child welfare services.
  • Recently, the Ministry of Women and Child Development has informed the State/UT wise number of Child Care Institutions (CCIs), Specialised Adoption Agencies (SAA) and Open Shelters supported under the Child Protection Services (CPS) under Mission Vatsalya.

Poshan Tracker

  • Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD).
  • Poshan Tracker, known as the ICDS-CAS (Integrated Child Development Services-Common Application Software) in its earlier avatar, was set up with the aim of tracking and improving various services delivered at anganwadis and to ensure nutritional management of beneficiaries .
  • This real-time monitoring system is one of the key pillars of Poshan Abhiyan or Nutrition Mission.

PRAYAAS Scheme

  • Ministry of Labour & Employment + initiative of EPFO to disburse pension payment order on very day of retirement/ superannuation.
  • EPFO send pension payment orders to retiring employees under Employees’ Pension Scheme, 1995 through “PRAYAAS” initiative.

Climate Vulnerability Index (CVI)

DIGISAKSHAM

  • Ministry for Labour and Employment has launched DigiSaksham- a digital skills programme to enhance the employability of youth by imparting digital skills that are required in an increasingly technology driven era.
  • This is a joint initiative with Microsoft India.
  • Free of cost training in digital skills including basic skills as well as advance computing will be provided to more than three lakh youths in the first year

PENCiL Portal

  • Ministry for Labour and Employment.
  • Platform for Effective Enforcement for No Child Labour (PENCiL).
  • online platform that aims at engaging the Central and State Governments, District, civil society and public in eradicating child labour to achieve target of child labour free society.
  • To mainstream into legal schools of all children who have been withdrawn from child labour and rehabilitated through the National Child Labour Project (NCLP) Scheme.
  • Instances of Child Labour can be reported by citizens on PENCIL Portal or by calling on Childline-1098.
  • Aims to build strong authentication mechanism for implementing and monitoring both enforcement of legislative provisions and effective implementation of NCLP Scheme.

e-Shram Portal

  • Recently, the Ministry of Labour and Employment launched the e-Shram portal.
  • Portal aims to register 38 crore unorganised workers such as construction labourers, migrant workforce, street vendors, and domestic workers, among others.
  • The workers will be issued an eShram card containing a 12 digit unique number.
  • If a worker is registered on the eSHRAM portal and meets with an accident, he will be eligible for Rs 2.0 Lakh on death or permanent disability and Rs 1.0 lakh on partial disability.
  • The formation of e-Shram portal came after the Supreme Court directed the Government to complete the registration process of unorganized workers so that they can avail the welfare benefits given under various government schemes.
  • Government in States/UTs will conduct registration of unorganised workers across the country

FASTER System

  • Ministry of Law & Justice .
  • Supreme Court has introduced a new system by which crucial decisions, including orders on bail and stay of arrest, can be communicated electronically to prison authorities and investigating agencies through a secure channel.
  • Fast and Secured Transmission of Electronic Records” (FASTER).
  • The system is meant to ensure that undertrials are not made to wait for days on end behind bars to be released because the certified hard copies of their bail orders took time to reach the prison.
  • The system would also prevent unnecessary arrests and custody of people even after the court had already granted them its protection. It may even communicate a stay on an execution ordered by the final court on time.

Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI)

  • Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).
  • Focuses on strengthening cluster governance systems with active participation of stakeholders.
  • Regular Cluster (500 artisans) with Government assistance of up to Rs.2.5 crore.
  • Major Cluster (more than 500 artisans) with Government assistance up to Rs.5 crore

Project RE-HAB

  • Sub-mission of KVIC’s National Honey Mission.
  • Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) installed bee boxes across elephant paths in southern Karnataka to block entrance of elephants to human habitations

SWADES Initiative

  • Skilled Workers Arrival Database for Employment Support (SWADES).
  • It aims to create a database of qualified citizens based on their skillsets and experience to tap into and fulfil the demand of Indian and foreign companies.
  • The collected information will be shared with the companies for suitable placement opportunities in the country.
  • SWADES is a joint initiative of Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Ministry of External Affairs.
  • MSDE’s implementation arm National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) is supporting the implementation of the project

ASEEM portal

  • Launched by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
  • To help skilled people find sustainable livelihood opportunities.
  • It is Artificial Intelligence-based platform which will map details of workers based on regions and local industry demands and will bridge demand supply gap of skilled workforce across sectors.
  • It is developed and managed by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in collaboration with Bengaluru-based company Better place.
