  • Dharmendra Pradhan launched Ujjwala sanitary napkin initiative
  • Launched by – Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Launched in – Bhubaneswar which will expand women’s access to hygiene products and provide them with employment opportunities in every district of the state.
  • The Central scheme will be a counter to the Odisha government’s Khushi scheme, in which sanitary napkins are provided free of cost to female students of government and government-aided schools in the state.
  • In the first phase of the Ujjwala Sanitary Napkin initiative, around 100 local manufacturing units will be set up by oil marketing companies at Common Service Centres (CSCs) across 93 blocks in all 30 districts of Odisha.
  • CSCs are facilities set up to deliver the Central government’s e-services in rural and remote locations.
  •  The cost of setting up each manufacturing unit is expected to be Rs 2.94 crores, and the sanitary napkins will be priced at Rs 40 per pack of eight pads.
  •  The CSCs are also being provided with raw material, enough to make 45,000-50,000 pads. The Ujjwala pads will be made of virgin wood pulp sheet, non-woven white sheet and a gel sheet which are all biodegradable in nature and will leave minimal carbon footprint.
  • Each manufacturing unit will employ five or six Ujjwala beneficiaries with an aim to provide employment to nearly 600 women across all districts.
  • The women will first receive training in manufacturing and sale of sanitary napkins.

  • पीएम किसान योजना में अब सभी किसानों को 6000 रुपये मिलेंगे
  • – अतंरिम बजट में Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Siddhi के लिए 75000 करोड़ रुपये रखे गए थे , इसमें 12 करोड़ ग़रीब और सीमांत किसानों को फ़ायदे का लक्ष्य था
  • – इन किसानों में 2 हेक्टेयर तक भूमि वाले किसान शामिल थे
  • अब पीएम किसान सम्मान योजना का लाभ देश के करीब 14.5 करोड़ किसानों को मिलेगा, पहले सिर्फ 12.5 करोड़ किसान ही इसके दायरे में आते थे। इस योजना के तहत साल में तीन किश्तों में कुल 6000 रुपये सीधे खाते में मिलते हैं।
  • The Rs 75,000-crore Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Siddhi (PMKSS) was announced in the interim Budget under which the government decided to provide Rs 6,000 per year (in three equal instalments) to an estimated 12.5 crore small and marginal farmers holding land up to two hectares.
  • Now the 2-hectare limit has been lifted
  • Now, the revised scheme envisages to cover around two crore more farmers increasing the coverage of the PM-KISAN to around 14.5 crore beneficiaries

  • Deen Dayal Veterinary University in Uttar Pradesh proposed to set up the first goat fertility lab in the state under Rastriya Krashi Vikas Yojna at the cost of Rs 22 crore.
  • Besides the proposed fertility lab, the infrastructure for a separate goat farm is under construction
  • To make goat farming a profitable business, the stress would not only be on improving the breed but also value addition and marketing
  • Besides stall feeding, the woman involved in goat farming would be trained to prepare Mozzarella cheese from goat milk.
  • Mozzarella cheese is nutritious and tasty and would fetch more income as it is in demand in various hotels

Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana

  • RKVY scheme was initiated in 2007 as an umbrella scheme for ensuring holistic development of agriculture and allied sectors.
  • The scheme has come a long way since its inception and has been implemented across two plan periods (11th and 12th).
  • The scheme incentivizes States to increase public investment in Agriculture & allied sectors.
  • The Cabinet approved ( as on 1st November 2017) for continuation of the ongoing Centrally Sponsored Scheme (State Plans) – Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) as Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana- Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied Sector Rejuvenation (RKVY-RAFTAAR) for three years i.e. 2017-18 to 2019-20 with a financial allocation of Rs. 15,722 crores with broad objectives of making farming a remunerative economic activity through strengthening the farmer’s effort, risk mitigation and promoting agri-business entrepreneurship.
  • Proposals of several states approved for implementation of Mahila Police Volunteer Scheme
  • Ministry of Women and Child Development in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs has approved the proposals of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh for implementation of Mahila Police Volunteer Scheme (MPVs).
  • The scheme envisages the engagement of Mahila Police Volunteers (MPVs) as a link between police and community and help women in distress with one MPV engaged per Gram Panchayat across the country.
  • Under the scheme, the Mahila Police volunteer is required to mobilize community to form Mahila and Shishu Rakshak Dals (MASRD) to act as community watch groups.
  • MPV would be given a monthly honorarium of Rs 1,000.
  • The first state to adopt the initiative was Haryana in which the scheme was started at Karnal and Mahindergarh District on a pilot basis under Nirbhaya Fund during the financial year 2016-2017

शहीदों के परिवारों के लिए

  • शहीदों के परिवार के बच्चों को दी जाने वाली स्कालरशिप की रकम में बढ़ोतरी की गई।
  • नेशनल डिफेंस फंड के तहत इसमें बढ़ोतरी की गई। लड़कों को दी जाने वाली स्कालरशिप में 500 रुपये की बढ़ोतरी की गई तो लड़कियों को दी जाने वाली राशि में 750 रुपये की बढ़ोतरी की घोषणा की गई।
  • शहीदों के परिवार के बच्चों को दी जाने वाली स्कालरशिपकी रकम में बढ़ोतरी की गई।
  • Scholarship for girls increased from Rs. 2250 per month to 3000 per month.
  • Scholarship for boys increased from Rs. 2000 per month to 2500 per month.
  • केंद्र सरकार ने प्रधानमंत्री किसान पेंशन योजना शुरू करने का फैसला किया पेंशन के तौर पर 60 साल की उम्र से ज्यादा के किसानों को हर महीने 3000 रुपये मिलेंगे
  • The ambit of the Scholarship Scheme is extended to the wards of State Police officials who are/were martyred during terror/naxal attacks.
  • The National Defence Fund (NDF) was set up in 1962 to take charge of the voluntary donations in cash and kind received for promotion of the national defence effort, and to decide on their utilisation.
  •  Currently the fund is being used for the welfare of the members of the Armed Forces, Para Military forces and Railway Protection Force, and their dependents.
  • Under the PMSS, every year new scholarships are given for 5500 wards of armed forces controlled by Ministry of Defence, for 2000 wards of paramilitary forces controlled by Ministry of Home Affairs and for 150 wards of forces controlled by Ministry of Railways.
  •  Cabinet also approved the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Pension Yojana under which small and marginal farmers will get a minimum fixed pension of Rs 3,000 per month on attaining the age of 60 years.
  • In the initial phase, the government will cover minimum five crore small and marginal farmers in the first three years
  • This scheme is a voluntary and contributory pension scheme for small and marginal farmers across the country, with the entry age of 18-40 years
  • The Government will match the contribution made by the eligible farmer in the pension fund. After the subscriber’s death, while receiving pension, the spouse of the beneficiary will be entitled to receive 50 per cent of the pension amount, provided he/she is not already a beneficiary of the scheme.
  • छोटे दुकानदारों और व्यापारियों के लिए पेंशन योजना शुरू की है। इसमें आने वाले 3 सालों में 5 करोड़ से ज्यादा छोटे व्यापारी शामिल होंगे
  • Under this scheme all shopkeepers, retail traders and self-employed persons are assured a minimum monthly pension of Rs. 3,000/- month after attaining the age of 60 years.
  • All small shopkeepers and self-employed persons as well as the retail traders with GST turnover below Rs. 1.5 crore and age between 18-40 years, can enrol for this scheme.
  • The scheme would benefit more than 3 crore small shopkeepers and traders. The scheme is based on self-declaration as no documents are required except Aadhaar and bank account.
  • Interested persons can enrol themselves through more than 3,25,000 Common Service Centres spread across the country.
  • The Government of India will make matching contribution in the subscribers’ account. For example if a person with age of 29 years contributes Rs. 100/- month, then the Central Government also contributes the equal amount as subsidy into subscriber’s pension account every month.

  • Special scheme for Control of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) and Brucellosis to support the livestock rearing farmers
  • The Cabinet had cleared a total outlay of Rs. 13,343 crores to fully control these diseases amongst the livestock in the country in the next five years and subsequently eradicate these diseases.
  • The threat of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) and Brucellosis: These diseases are very common amongst the livestock – cow-bulls, buffaloes, sheep, goats, pigs etc.
  • If a cow/buffalo gets infected with FMD, the milk loss is upto 100% which could last for four to six months.
  • Further, in case of Brucellosis the milk output reduces by 30%, during the entire life cycle of animal.
  • Brucellosis also causes infertility amongst the animals. The infection of brucellosis can also be transmitted to the farm workers and livestock owners.
  • In case of FMD, the scheme envisages vaccination coverage to 30 crore bovines (cows-bulls and buffaloes) and 20 crore sheep/goat and 1 crore pigs at six months’ while the Brucellosis control programme shall extend to cover 100% vaccination coverage of 3.6 crore female calves
