Meri Mati Mera Desh Campaign
Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the 103rd Man Ki Baat announced the Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign which starts from 9th August 2023 for honouring the martyred brave-hearts of the country. Under this, many programs will be organized across the country in memory of our immortal martyrs. In memory of these luminaries, special inscriptions will also be installed in lakhs of village panchayats of the country. Under this campaign, ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ will also be organised across the country.
Prime Minister has suggested the Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign give true value to its tagline ‘Mitti ko naman, veeron ka vandan.’ According to him, a campaign would be started to recognize courageous souls, and events will be held all throughout India in honour of those who gave their lives in defence of the nation.
Meri Mati Mera Desh Campaign Details
Meri Mati Mera Desh’s campaign at the national level covering every gram panchayat of the country will be topped with a mega event proposed in New Delhi from August 9 to August 15, 2023, in which 75,000 youth from across the country will participate. This atmosphere of celebration of positivity, patriotism, and gratitude towards freedom fighters and martyrs has inspired the youth population of the country during Amrit Kaal to direct their youth power in the direction of ‘India@2047’ as a Global Leader will induce to swear. Meri Mati Mera Desh Campaign Five-Point Agenda
As part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebration of India’s 75th anniversary of Independence, the Union government has launched the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign. The campaign’s goal is to use soil gathered from throughout the nation in August to create a garden called Amrit Vatika along the Kartavya Path in Delhi. Shilaphalakam Installation
There will be monuments built, bearing the names of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the country. The Bravehearts (veers) will be revered and remembered for their enormous contribution to the freedom, cohesion, and integrity of the nation.
Pledge of Commitment
People will make a solemn pledge at the memorial locations, reiterating their steadfast dedication to the country and its principles.
Vasudha Vandhan
As part of “Vasudha Vandhan,” each gram panchayat or village would plant 75 seedlings of native species in an effort to revitalize Mother Earth and create Amrit Vatikas (Eternal Gardens).
Veeron Ka Vandan
The relatives of deceased freedom warriors as well as living freedom fighters will be recognized and congratulated. Families of those who perished while performing their duties will also attend, along with retired military people, CAPF members, and state police officers.
National Flag Hoisting
The National Anthem will ring out in unison as the National Flag is proudly raised, igniting the atmosphere with patriotism and pride.
Meri Mati Mera Desh Campaign Implementation
From panchayat and village to block, urban local bodies, state, and national levels, events will be staged at various levels.
Young volunteers will gather soil from every panchayat and hamlet and bring it to the block, where ‘Mitti Kalash’ (pots of soil) would be ceremoniously conveyed to Delhi. The gathered soil will be used to build the Amrit Vatika, a special garden celebrating national integrity and the warriors of the Indian freedom struggle, near Delhi’s Kartavya Path.
Amrit Kalash Yatra
There will also be an Amrit Kalash Yatra during the “Meri Mati Mera Desh” campaign. With 7,500 Kalash from villages and other parts of the nation, this “Amrit Kalash Yatra” would transport soil from these locations to Delhi. Additionally, this yatra will transport plants from different regions of the nation. These 7,500 Kalash of earth and vegetation will be used to construct an “Amrit Vatika” next to the National War Memorial.
