the direction he is facing. Then he turns left and walks for 8 meters. Then he turns and walks 20
meters in south-east direction to reach point R. Then finally he walks 12 meters in west direction to
reach point S that is in south direction with respect to point Q. What is the shortest distance between
point P and point R?
a) 13 meters b) 15 meters c) 17 meters d) 19 meters e) Cannot be determined
5) There are only six members (A, B, C, D, E and F) in the three-generation family. Only married
couples have children. F’s only sister’s father-in law’s only child’s only daughter is E. A is brother-inlaw
of F. B and C are of same gender. D is not married to B. F is a male member. How E is related to
C?

Seven students A, B, C, D, E, F and G scored maximum in different subjects Mathematics, Biology,
English, Hindi, History, Physics and Geography not necessarily in the same order. Each had a different
total score (sum of scores across all subjects).
• The one who scored the highest in Geography had a total score less than B.
• Only 2 persons had a total score less than E but more than the one who scored maximum in English.
• D scored the maximum in Physics and had a total score more than F.
• Number of persons who had a total less than B was thrice as that the number of persons who had
a total score more than C. C did not score the highest total.
• The one who scored the maximum in English had a total score more than the one who scored the
maximum in History.
• The one who scored the maximum in Hindi had a total score less than only one person.
• Only 2 persons scored a total less than A but more than F.
• A did not score the maximum in Geography and B did not score the maximum in Mathematics.
• G was not the one who had the least total.
