PUZZLE—1
Eight persons P, Q, R, S, T, U, V and W were racing on eight different parallel tracks. They were facing the north. It started to rain after 5 minutes and thus the race had to be stopped. The distance
travelled by each was measured and was found to be different and the winners were announced
accordingly. All the distances were found to be in multiples of 100. The tracks were also numbered
1-8 from left to right
• Q covered twice the distance as covered by P
• P and R together covered 1700m and they were at a gap of 2 tracks.
• R’s neighbor covered 800m more than V
• V was 3rd to the right of U who covered 100m
• S was 3rd to the left of W who was neighboring U
• R’s track number was 4 times the track number of Q
• U and R together covered a distance as covered by Q
• Person on track 7 covered 1500m
• Q covered thrice the distance as covered by S
• One who covered 900m was 3rd to the right of the one who covered 400m.
PUZZLE—2:-
In a school exams were Organised on 1st March, Wednesday and continued till 8th March,
Wednesday. In the span of 8 days six exams namely Sanskrit, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Hindi,
and English, were Organised. The information available from the school is
i. Only one exam is Organised on a particular day
ii. Hindi is not Organised on the last day.
iii. Biology is Organised on the day just before the day on which Sanskrit is Organised.
iv. English is not Organised on Wednesday.
v. None of the exams are Organised on Thursday or Sunday.
vi. Mathematics is Organised on Monday.
vii. There is a gap of 2 days between Sanskrit and English.
