PUZZLE—1
Eight friends P, Q, R, S, T, U, V and W organised parties in the months of January, March, April and
May. The parties were organised either on 1st or 10th of these months. There were different number
of invitees in these parties. The parties having even number of invitees were organised in
months having even number of days and the parties having odd number of invitees were organised
in months having odd number of days.
• T invited 42 guests and her party was organised at a gap of 1 from P’s party
• P and W organised their parties at a gap of 2
• Q hosted the party in January at a gap of 2 from the one who invited 31 guests
• 53 guests were there in the party that was organised on 1st March
• U hosted his party just after the one who invited 49 guests
• The parties having 41 and 45 invitees were organised in the same month
• The party that had 45 invitees was organised at a gap of 1 from V’s party
• R’s party was just after the party with 37 guests
• The party that had 34 guests was organised at a gap of 2 from S’s party
• U and Q did not host parties on consecutive turns.
PUZZLE—2:-
Eight ropes L, M, N, O, P, Q, R and S, of different colours are tied to rod. Rod is placed horizontally,
and ropes are tied along its length in such a way that one end of the ropes are tied to rod, leaving
the rest part of the ropes hanging down. These ropes are tied according to increasing order of their
length from right to left.
Two ropes are tied towards left of purple rope. One rope is tied between Red and grey rope. N is
tied towards immediate left of O, neither of them is longest, shortest or purple in colour. Q is longer
than S. Both are shorter than O. Blue rope is longest and maximum number of ropes are tied between
blue and grey rope. M is green, and two ropes are there between M and yellow rope. N is
black. Q is not yellow in colour. R is not blue or purple. P is longer than L. There is a white coloured
rope, which is not Q or S.
