- Hasan, a native of Kanodar village in Palanpur district, Gujarat cracked the coveted 2017 Union Public Services Commission exams by securing an all-India rank of 570.

- Hasan belongs to a low-income family. His father Mustafa Hasan and mother Naseembanu both worked in a diamond unit.
- After the parents lost their job, father began to work as an electrician and mother began rolling out hundreds of rotis to support family expenses.
