- Chopra’s gold is India’s only second medal in javelin throw in Asian Games history after Gurtej Singh won a bronze in 1982 in New Delhi.

- Won : Athletics : Men’s triple jump
- Born : Amritsar, Punjab
- Arpinder Singh clinched India’s first men’s triple jump gold in 48 years with a jump of 16.77m in the Asian Game
