Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) is a Border Guarding Force (BGF) under the administrative control of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Formerly known as Special Service Bureau, it was set up in early 1963 in the wake of the Indo-China conflict to inculcate feelings of national belonging in the border population and develop their capabilities for resistance through a continuous process of motivation, training, development, welfare programmes.
Later, SSB was declared a Lead Intelligence Agency (LIA) for the Indo-Nepal border (June 2001) and Indo-Bhutan border (March 2004).
The motto of SSB is “Service, Security, and Brotherhood”.

181 vacancies for SI (Staff Nurse Female), ASI (Radiographer, Operation Theatre, Pharmacist, Dental Technician, Stenographer) & Head Constable posts.

QUALIFICATIONS

The candidate must have passed 10+2 with science from a recognized board or institution to be qualified under or any of the post along with the following diploma’s & experiences:

Selection Process:

The physical efficiency test is of qualifying in nature and the candidates must qualify the event as under:
Phase I: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
Phase II: Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
Phase III: Documentation
Phase IV: Written Test
Phase V: Skill Test (For ASI Steno and HC Min posts)

SYLLABUS AND EXAM PATTERN

APPLICATION FEE

1.SI (Staff Nurse Female): Females are exempted from the examination fees.

2.ASI (Radiographer, Operation Theatre, Pharmacist, Dental Tech., Stenographer) & Head Constable: Rs. 100/-

Note: SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen and female candidates are exempted from the payment of application fees.

This list is from higher to lower. And every rank is covered in this list. Basically, there are two types of officers and their recruitment process is different for SSB. The first type of officers in SSB is GOs which stands for Gazetted Officers and the Second one is NGOs which stands for Non-Gazetted Officers. We have described them in the different order. There are 9 level of GOs and 6 level of NGOs in SSB.
