Closing ceremony
The closing ceremony of the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics was held at the Youth Olympic Village on 18 October 2018. The Olympic flag was handed over to the next host city, Senegalese capital Dakar.
Mascot
The olympic mascot of these games was unveiled on 29 May 2018. The mascot is a young Yaguareté (A southamerican animal, very similar to the Jaguar). Its name “Pandi” is a combination of the scientific name of the species (Panthera onca) and the relationship of the mascot with the “digital world”.

India managed their best ever medal haul of the Youth Olympics in this edition. Among the 206 nations participated, India were ranked 17th on the medals tally in 2018 Summer Youth Olympics.

First Ever
Jeremy Lalrinnunga won India’s first ever Youth Olympics Gold medal.
Tababi Devi won the first ever youth Olympics medal for India in Judo and later also won a silver in the mixed team event under mixed-NOC .
Manu Bhaker became the first Indian girl to win a Youth Olympics Gold medal.
Both Boys’ and Girls’ Hockey 5s teams won silver medals in their debut.
