THE BASE (HATE GROUP)
- The Base is an accelerationist, neo-Nazi white separatist paramilitary hate group, formed in 2018 and active in at least the United States, Canada, Australia and South Africa.
- The group advocates the formation of white ethno-states, a goal they see as achievable via terrorism and the violent overthrow of existing governments. It organizes “race war preppers” and operates “hate camps”.
WHITE ETHNO-STATE
- A white ethno-state is a proposed type of state in which residence or citizenship would be limited to white people and would exclude non-whites such as Black people, non-White Hispanics, Jewish people etc.

ANTIFA
- Antifa has been around for several decades, though accounts vary on its exact beginnings.
- While the movement has had a presence in several European countries and has come into focus in the United States in recent years, Antifa does not have a formal organisational structure. The New York Times said it draws its members from other movements such as Black Lives Matter and the Occupy movement.
BELIEFS
- Individuals involved in the movement tend to hold anti-capitalistviews and subscribe to a range of ideologies such as anarchism (particularly anarcho-communism),communism and Marxism, socialism, and social democracy.
METHODS
- Activists engage in varied protest tactics, including digital activism, property damage and physical violence, and harassment against those whom they identify as fascist, racist, or on the far-right.
DETAILS
- The movement has been known to have a presence in the US in the 1980s. It shot into prominence following the election of President Trump in 2016, with violence marking some of its protests and demonstrations.
