UPSC Prelims Expected Cut Off: The Union Public Service Commission will make official announcements regarding UPCS Cut Off marks after it successfully conducts every stage of the UPSC exam. On May 28, 2023, the UPSC conducted the UPSC Prelims 2023 Exam. Candidates who have appeared in the UPSC 2023 Prelims Exam can check the UPSC Expected Cutoff 2023 to know their chances of selection for the UPSC Main 2023 exam.

The UPSC Prelims Cut-Off scores are based only on General Studies I performance. The General Studies II or CSAT exam is only used for qualifying purposes; it has no bearing on merit standing. The UPSC Prelims 2020 were held on October 4th, 2020. The 2020 IAS Prelims Cut-Off will be between 95 and 98 (+/-3). Now, the CSE Cut Off for Prelims 2020 has been announced in an official notice. For the Mains stage of the exam, only those applicants who achieved a score higher than the UPSC Prelims cutoff did so.

The UPSC Prelims 2019 were held on June 2, 2019, and the general category’s cutoff score ranges from 95 to 100.

UPSC Cut Off and Facts Associated

The final candidate selected, based on the number of openings in a certain category, receives the scores that make up the UPSC cutoff marks. The UPSC doesn’t release the Preliminary and Main Exam cut off marks until after the Civil Services Exam final result for that particular year is made public.

Regarding the selection of applicants based on cut off scores, UPSC has clarified a few issues:

• Case 1- The candidate who earns the highest combined score in the required papers and IAS interviews will be given a higher rank by the Commission if two candidates receive the same overall score in the Civil Services Examination.
• Case 2- If two applicants score similarly on all of their exams, including the obligatory ones and the UPSC personality tests, the individual who is older will be given a higher rank.
• Case 3- The candidate with the higher score on the mandatory exams will be given a higher rank if two candidates of the same age and performance on both the mandatory tests and the UPSC CSE interview are equal.
