- The United States recently added Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) to its Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) list.

- US Department of State accused Balochistan Liberation Army of “targetting Chinese engineers in Balochistan” and Gwadar terrorist attack.
- The Department of State has designated the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Hizballah operative Husain Ali Hazzima as Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGTs) under Executive Order (E.O.) 13224, according to a State Department notification
BALOCH IN PAKISTAN
- Rich in natural resources like natural gas, oil, coal, copper, sulphur, fluoride and gold, this is the least developed province in Pakistan.
BALOCHISTAN LIBERATION ARMY
- The BLA is listed as a terrorist organization by Pakistan United Kingdom and the United States of America.
- Since 2004 the BLA has waged an violent armed struggle against Pakistan for what it claims as self-determination for the Baloch people and separation of Balochistan from Pakistan and has been involved in ethnic-cleansing of non-Baloch minorities in Balochistan
NOTES
- Mass graves were found in Balochistan for the first time in 2014 in Turbat, and since then, every year the people of the region discovered similar graves in different areasone of the latest was found in Dera Bugti.
- In each case the discovery follows the same pattern- the Army and intelligence agencies cordons-off the area, keeping people away. Nobody really knows how many bodies are buried there and who they were.
NOTES
- The numbers, according to The Voice of Missing Baloch People (VMBP) and other human rights organisations, are staggering. Since 2017, around 18,000 people have disappeared from Balochistan; give or take a citizen or two.
