Silkyara Bend-Barkot Tunnel : ‘Chardham Mahamarg Pariyojana’
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by the Prime Minister gave its approval to the construction of Bi-Directional Silkyara Bend – Barkot Tunnel
The project will fall along NH-134 (old NH-94) in the state of Uttarakhand and built under Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Mode.
The tunnel will provide all-weather connectivity to Yamunotri (one of the dham on Chardham Yatra) and encourage regional socio-economic development, trade and tourism within the country.
The project aims at the construction of 4.531 Km long two-lane Bi Directional
tunnel (along with 328m approach road) with escape passage on Dharasu –Yamunotri in the State of Uttarakhand.
Reduce distance: The tunnel will reduce the travel distance from Dharasu to Yamunotri by about 20 km and travel time by about an hour. The total distance between Dharasu and Yamunotri Temple is 76 kms
Sushri Uma Bharti, launched the Bagori Ganga Gram project, New Swajal Project at Bagori
And Gangotri Iconic Place at Dunda village in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand.
Besides creating cleanliness, providing basic amenities to the people of Ganga bank villages, these projects would also generate employment.

International Yoga festival held in Rishikesh Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat on March 1 inaugurated the week-long 29th annual, world famous International Yoga Festival (IYF) in Rishikesh’s Parmarth Niketan.

Shri R K Singh laid down the foundation stone of the 60 MW Naitwar Mori Hydro Electric Project in Uttarkashi.
The project on Tons river, a tributary of the Yamuna to give 265.5 Million Units of renewable energy to grid and cut CO2 emissions by 0.21 Million Tons annually project was allocated to SJVN Ltd by the Government of Uttarakhand. SJVN Ltd is a Mini Ratna PSU under administrative
control of the Ministry of Power, Govt. of India.
The ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR) has selected eight different levels of panchayats of Uttarakhand for Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar 2018 which
were given out on National Gram Panchayati Raj Diwas by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.
24 April- Maximum panchayats of Uttar Pradesh, 36, were incentive through awards followed by Maharashtra (18) and Madhya Pradesh (16).

65th National Film Awards
The state of Uttarakhand is given a Special Mention Certificate to recognize the efforts made by the State of Uttarakhand towards creating a film-friendly environment.
In March 2018, Uttarakhand organised the fifth edition of its three-day Spring Bird Festival at Jhilmil Jheel Conservation Reserve and Thano Reserve Forest areas.
Around 1,000 bird lovers participated in the event, which was supported by the Union environment ministry, the state’s Pollution Control Board, Eco-tourism Department
and several wildlife NGOs.

Uttarakhand madrassas to teach Sanskrit. The lower committee of Uttarakhand Madrassa Education Board (UMEB) has given its nod to a proposal seeking inclusion of Sanskrit and Computer Science as optional subjects in madrassas all over the state from the next
academic session.
At present, madrassas in the state offer Maths, Science, Ayush and Social Science as optional subjects. With an aim to involve people and expert in development works and
government schemes, the government intends to conduct “Devbhoomi Dialogue” conclave each month.
Each conclave with focus on different topic and would be held in different area. Experts of the topic concerned and locals would be invited to interact with the CM to provide their feedback and suggestions.
The dialogue will aim to involve youngsters who are role models in their respective areas, social entrepreneurs and other experts. The initiative has been inspired by Apka Budget Aapki Rai campaign of the state government, in which the CM himself interacted with people hailing from different sectors of the society to take their views, which could be included in the budget.

The over 50-acre Himalayan Mega Food Park Private Ltd has been set up at a cost of Rs 99.96 crore and will benefit around 25,000 farmers in this and neighboring districts.

major attraction.
The plan includes ferrying tourists from Dehradun to Tehri on a seaplane at Rs 5,000 per head
Champawat.
