Vayo Naman Programme
- Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment organised VAYO NAMAN Programme on the occasion of International Day of Older Persons.
- On this occasion, Vayoshreshtha Samman-2021 awards were given to senior citizens.
Vayo Naman Programme
- Elder Line 14567 is a toll-free number open 12 Hours a day (8:00 AM to 8:00 PM).
- It will provide free information, guidance, emotional support, field intervention in cases of abuse & rescues in order to improve the quality of life of senior citizens.
- In case of emergencies, this helpline can support senior citizens with the right and on-time information for medical needs, emotional support and other associated needs.

- The Vice President Venkaiah Naidu also formally launched SAGE for Elderly people.
- The SAGE (Seniorcare Aging Growth Engine) is portal which will be a “one-stop access” of elderly care products and services by credible start-ups.
- The start-ups selected under SAGE will be those which will provide new innovative products and services to elderly persons in various areas like health, travel, finance, legal ,housing, food among others. MoJSE will act as a facilitator for this scheme.
- A fund of upto 1 crore as one-time equity will be granted to each selected start-up.

- At the Vayo Samman, Senior Able Citizens for Re Employment in Dignity (SACRED) Portal was also launched.
- SACRED will be an IT portal to be developed to bring the employment seeker senior citizens and employment providers on one platform.

- SACRED will be an IT portal to bring the employment seeker senior citizens and employment providers on one platform will be developed and maintained by an agency identified through a transparent process.
- An individual senior citizen will get oneself registered on the portal with his relevant education, past experience, skills and the areas of interest.
- Any job provider – individual / firm/ company/ partnership/ Voluntary Organisation etc. can also register on the portal.
- Voluntary Organizations will help the senior citizens in applying for these jobs. No user charges will be taken from any of the senior citizens by any Voluntary Organizations.
- The Web portal will be developed through NIC. An amount of Rs. 10 Cr would be provided for funding for the platform development along with maintenance grant of Rs. 2 Cr per year for 5 years.
