- of Drinking water
- To provide every rural person with safe water for drinking, cooking and domestic needs.
- This was subsumed in JAL JEEVAN MISSION
JAL JEEVAN MISSION-Rural(2019)
- Jal shakti Ministry
- Har Ghar Jal( piped water supply) to all rural households by 2024
- For cities with population of million will be encouraged to achieve it in current year itself.
- Focuses on rainwater harvesting, ground water recharge, using household waste water for reuse in agriculture.
JAL JEEVAN MISSION-Urban(2021)
- To provide functional household tap connection to houses in all 4378 urban local bodies.
- This mission will also provide liquid waste management in 500 AMRUT cities.
PRADHAN MANTRI KRISHI SINCHAI YOJANA(2015)
- Agriculture Ministry
- Centrally sponsored scheme.
- Aim: To improve the irrigation coverage, reduce wastage of water, using 4 pillar strategy
- Accelerated irrigation benefit programme
- Har khet ko pani
- Watershed development
- Per drop more crop
JAL KRANTI ABHIYAN (2015)
- Department of water resource.
- In every district, 2 villages facing acute water shortage are designated as Jal Gram and efforts are made to turn them into water surplus
JAL SHAKTI ABHIYAN (2019)
- Jal Shakti Ministry.
- To conserve water using following methods,
- Rainwater harvesting, Renovation of traditional water bodies/tanks, bore well recharge structures, watershed development
- Water reuse, afforestation.
ATAL BHUJAL YOJANA(2019)
- Jal shakti Ministry.
- Funding: Union+ World Bank
- This scheme is for selected 7 states facing extreme water shortage i.e, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, MP, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and UP.
- Panchayat led ground water management and behavioural change. Better performing grams will get better funding.
