What’s the situation in Black Sea?
- Russia enjoys almost complete naval superiority in the northern Black Sea even now.

- The most striking success was the sinking of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet flagship, The Moskva, which was hit by Ukrainian Neptune missiles. Ukraine has also repeatedly struck Russian forces on Snake Island and damaged or sunk Russian vessels in the surrounding waters.

- A senior U.N. official is due to visit Moscow in the coming days to discuss reviving fertilizer exports, Russia’s U.N. Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia said in a media interaction while stressing that the talks were not linked to a resumption of Ukrainian grain shipments.
- N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, who had visited Moscow and Kyiv in April 2022, is in “intense contact” with Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, the United States and the European Union in a bid to broker what he calls a “package deal” to resume both Ukrainian food exports and Russian food and fertilizer exports.
